TIP! HOW TO PREVENT FOAM IN THE DISHWASHER?

Excellent tips from our dishwasher experts to prevent excessive foam in your dishwasher.

Our TD employees are experts in automatic dishwashing. Every day, they visit customers for installations, but also for periodic checking of dishwashers. They also have a lot of tips and tricks to get the best result from our dishwashing liquids, for example about how to prevent foaming in the machine.

Causes too much foam in professional dishwashers
A complaint that returns regularly: The dosage is not set properly because there is too much dirt or foam in the machine (or it even comes out!). Foam in the machine may have several causes, but a dosage that is set to high can't be a reason. How do you avoid the amount of foam in the dishwasher?

The do's and don'ts of our experts.

1. Do not adjust a set dose yourself

A dishwasher detergent isn't really a foaming product. Even though you could dose a 20-liter can at one time, no foam will develop. Do not reduce the dosage set by your expert.

2. Do not set the dosage too low

Contrary, a dosage set too low may cause problems, if there are plates and dishes that are not properly flushed. Presoaking is underestimated, but it very important. If the dishes are not or hardly flushed, this leads to a high supply of greases in the machine. Combined with a low dose of dishwashing liquid, it causes saponification: a chemical reaction that results from the combination of fat and lye (as a detergent component). Soiling causes foam. A perfect dose depends on the situation: your type of machine, the hardness of the water and the amount of pollution.

3. Rinse well!

Very important: thoroughly pre-rinse the dishes. This avoids the possibility of saponification in the machine. Do not use hot water, but lukewarm water.

4. Use a special prewash product, no detergent

Dishwashers detergent in the supermarket are also actually meant to for doshwashing. These agents cuasing substantial foaming and are not suitable as prewashing agents. If too much product remains on the tableware, it increases the risk of foaming in your machine. Rinse with a product that is specifically intended for that purpose.

5. Set the dishwasher temperature correctly

In the case of automatic dishwashing, a rinsing phase will follow after the cleaning phase. Rinsing agents used in this phase are sensitive to temperature. In case of too low a temperature, these products can cause foam. We recommend a wash bath temperature of 55°C to 65°C and a rinsing temperature of 80°C to 90°C.

6. Clean the dishwasher with a non-foaming agent

For cleaning the dishwasher, use a "strip" agent that is also intended for this purpose. These productsdo not foam.
